| RACHEL
CORNISH
Working
primarily with video, Rachel Cornish explores the experience
of ‘being here now’. Her new film ‘Om
Mani Padme Hum’ depicts a solitary, repetitive
journey within the home, emphasising an unseen passage
of time. A video installation, 'The Same Coin', draws
attention to memory and conscious experience in relation
to space and time. |

CAROL
HARVEY
Carol
Harvey's work focuses on the vulnerabilities of baby
and parents, she examines the uncertainties and anxieties
a new being brings. Parenthood as well as childhood
can be a challenge with its expectations, deliberations
and ensuing consequences. The photographic work has
an ability to touch on universal human experiences,
allowing the viewer their own intimacy with the image
as well as a sense of collective awareness.

BUFF
LANCASTER-THOMAS
Most
of Buff Lancaster-Thomas' artwork is generated by
a concern with a wide variety of social issues, frequently
embracing the marginalized or the abject. Mundane
materials are transformed into diverse ‘mindscapes’
which invite the viewer to participate in an exploration
of the tactile, sensual, evocative and conceptual.
She has created a new installation for 'Artshot',
based on a continued exploration of the complex life
of bees, drawing visual parallels between their society
and that of the human.

STORMSMITH
NOMI
Stormsmith Nomi is a sound artist, radio programme
maker and broadcaster. 'Broken/Open', a new work,
focuses on the theme of transformation, as experienced
in human life and in the natural world. It charts
a journey into the unknown, of surrender and radical
trust, and of a new and unimagined emergence |

NIC
THOMPSON
Nic
Thompson is exploring the temporal dimension of video,
while controlling its other attributes, camera movement
and lens movement. To begin with these regimes allowed
the energy of the subject matter to be expressed by
the static camera. Later by using the handheld camera
he emphasised its slowness, embodying the effects
of his own frailty in the face of nature. Recently
the camera broke free, and its movement became unlimited
by bodily restraint. This is the antithesis of previous
work, as free as the wind, the subject revealed by
the drawings of invisible planetary and ultimately
universal forces.
